I am a workshop designer and consultant, specializing in Human-Centered Design (HCD) and Design Thinking. Since focusing on user experience (UX) in the electronics manufacturing industry, I have deepened my expertise in HCD, and through many years of experience at printer manufacturers in Japan (Toshiba), Korea (Samsung), and the United States (HP), I have led product planning, technology development strategy, and future strategy in global environments. Leveraging the knowledge gained from global corporations and my HCD expertise, I support digital transformation (DX) initiatives and new business development in these uncertain times. Currently, I lead the workshop design unit “Gurisan,” applying HCD principles and placing the highest value on each participant’s deep sense of understanding. Through workshops based on “learning that starts with questions” and the concept of “four-way satisfaction” (where participants, clients, society, and the workshop designer all feel “it was worth doing”), I contribute to the sustainable growth of both business and society.

• 1990–2001: Engaged in toner development and advanced technology development at Toshiba TEC Imaging Systems Corporation.
• 2002–2005: Director and co-founder of T-Four Co., Ltd. Served as a technology consultant for productization of Toshiba’s erasable toner (e-blue), among other roles.
• 2005–2007: Gained experience in client work such as market research at Interwatch Co., Ltd.
• 2007–2017: Senior researcher at Samsung Japan Research Institute, responsible for printing technology development, product planning, and technology development strategy. Obtained certification as a Human-Centered Design Specialist.
• 2017–2023: Led the Future Strategy Group at the Printing Technology Development Center of HP Japan Inc. Also engaged in scenario planning, value creation, organizational development, and human resource development.
• 2018–2024: Certified lecturer (Human-Centered Design, Technology Strategy) and visiting researcher at the Tokyo Metropolitan University of Advanced Industrial Technology.
• Oct–Dec 2024: Part-time lecturer in “Advanced Topics in Human-Centered Design” at the Tokyo Metropolitan University of Advanced Industrial Technology.
• Apr 2016–Present: Examiner for certification tests and member of the Education Division at the Human Centered Design Organization.
• Sep 2023–Present: Member of the HCD Certification Education Working Group at the Human-Centered Social Co-Creation Organization.
• Jan 2022–Present: Planning committee member of the Imaging Society of Japan.
• May 2024–Present: Founder, workshop designer, and consultant at Glissant.
